About the power station
EDL has owned and operated the McArthur River Mine Power Station since the mine commenced operations in 1995, underpinned with a 15-year power supply contract. EDL’s safe and reliable operations during this time resulted in our customer Glencore awarding us with an additional 20-year (68MW) power supply contract.
The original station comprised of six gas turbine gensets and two reciprocating gas engine gensets. In 2012, EDL expanded the station and installed six 9.7MW Wartsila gas reciprocating engines.
