Byron Center
EDL owns and operates the Byron Center landfill gas facility at the South Kent Landfill in Byron Center, Michigan. The power station has operated since 2009 and supplies renewable energy to homes and businesses through the local Consumers Energy network. The facility was originally designed as a two-engine 3.2MW plant, and in 2024 was expanded to a 4.8MW capacity with the addition of a third engine following expansion of the biogas collection network at South Kent Landfill by Kent County.
