All five wind turbines are now up and running and successfully integrated into Australia’s largest hybrid renewable microgrid, and the first in the country to power a mine with wind-generated electricity on a large scale. In favourable weather conditions, the project has delivered up to 70% of Agnew’s power requirements with renewable energy.
On 3 March 2020, EDL and joint venture partners Kinetrex Energy and South Side Landfill celebrated the opening of the Indy High BTU plant at the Indianapolis South Side Landfill. The plant, which will be fully operational March 20, will convert landfill methane gas into approximately 8 million gallons of pipeline-quality renewable natural gas (RNG) each year.
