About the LFG plant
EDL acquired both the Johnston and Brea LFG power stations in 2019. The facilities are two of the largest and most advanced LFG facilities in the United States with a combined installed generation capacity of 65.3MW.
The Johnston plant has installed generation capacity of 33.1MW comprising four Solar Taurus 60 turbines, heat steam recovery generators and a steam turbine generator. An additional 6.4MW of Caterpillar reciprocating engines are available for utilizing excess landfill gas.
